Activity Centers
To better serve the communities of New Castle County, we are now offering leisure time activities to residents of all ages at several locations throughout New Castle County. We know you'll catch our enthusiasm and will want to sign up for a class or two after you see the many activities offered in HAPPENINGS, which can be found in the left-hand column on this page. You'll find parent and tot classes, programs for preschoolers, activities for elementary-age children, teens, and, as always, our very popular adult classes.
No joiner fee or annual membership fee is required to participate in any class or activity at New Castle County Community Activity Centers. Participants pay only the cost listed in program descriptions to join a class.
The Search is On For Instructors!
The Dept. of Community Services is looking for instructors (Independent Contractors) to teach classes in the Middletown area and also at the Brandywine Town Center; The Art Studio; Middletown-Odessa-Townsend area; and Garfield Park, Hockessin, and Rockwood Activity Centers.
The main classifications the instructor may teach are:
Fitness or Exercise (Aerobics, Pilates, Tai Chi, etc.)
Instructional (Languages, Technology, Photography, etc.)
The Arts (Arts & Crafts, Beading, Print Making, Drawing, Watercolors, etc.)
Instruction may be designed for children, teens, adults, parent & child, or any combination of adult/child.
If you have a family member or friend that may be interested in becoming an instructor (Independent Contractor), please call 302-239-8861 or 302-571-4004.
