Finance - Boards & Commissions

The following public boards and commissions are responsible for making recommendations and/or decisions on a variety of finance related laws and judgments. All board meetings are open to the public.

Audit Committee

In recognition that an independent oversight function is imperative due to the unique relationship between government auditors and the taxpayers, County Council established an independent Council Audit Committee to advise the County Auditor and the New Castle County Council (at whose pleasure the Auditor serves) on implementation of State law mandates regarding County auditing functions and other issues surrounding the Auditor's office.

Financial Advisory Council

The New Castle County Financial Advisory Council reviews, comprehends, and comments upon financial data and project future revenue and expenditures based on available data relevant to past trends and the current economic environment.
