The New Castle County Executive and County Council appoint residents to serve in a variety of capacities on dozens of boards and commissions.

Community Services Advisory Board	Three Vacancies	Residents of New Castle County Persons of recognized character and ability who meet the qualifications of the Department

Ethics Commission	One Vacancy	Shall be either a Democrat, Republican, or Independent Shall not hold or campaign for any other County office Shall not hold office in any political party Shall not be employed by the County in any other capacity, whether or not for compensation
Financial Advisory Council	Three Vacancies	Members should broadly represent both the public and private sectors of the County, and possess the ability to review, comprehend and comment upon financial date and project future revenue and expenditures based on available data relevant to past trends and the current economic environment
Fire and Ambulance Advisory Board	One Vacancy	Must be a member of the First Fire District

Housing Advisory Board	Three Vacancies	Residents of New Castle County Must be a representative from the NCC Board of Realtors (Member Position Open) Representative from the lending or financial services industry and has experience financing low and moderate income communities (Member Position Open) Community Representative with experience in low income housing (Member Position Open) Housing Advocate Organization Representative
Human Resources Advisory Board	One Vacancy	Shall be residents of New Castle County Shall be in favor of merit principles as applied to public employment Shall not be a member of any local, state, or national committee of a political party, or an officer of member of a committee of any partisan or political group or shall hold or be a candidate for any political office. Must be registered voters of New Castle County with at least one a registered voter of one major political party and one a registered voter of the other major political party.
Library Advisory Board	Four Vacancies	Resident of the 1st or 7th Councilmatic District (Member Position Open) Resident of the 3rd or 9th Councilmatic District (Member Position Open) Resident of the 4th or 10th Councilmatic District (Member Position Open) Chair, Countywide
Board of License and Inspection	One Vacancy	Preference shall be given to candidates who are qualified professionals in the construction industry, and/or are members of a recognized trade construction industry, and/or are members of a recognized trade association, or are in the fields of construction engineering
