Historic Trolley Square in Wilmington 
New Castle County offers a diverse selection of living environments. There are opportunities for urban living in Wilmington, which has a population of 72,000. The city's Waterfront area has been redeveloped with residences for professionals working downtown, as well as businesses, restaurants and recreation. Other areas of Wilmington are ideal for living close to the downtown area. The Trolley Square and Little Italy neighborhoods are excellent areas that also have a strong sense of community.
 
Newark, with a population of 30,000, is home to University of Delaware. It has a mix of students, families, and young professionals. Residents enjoy Main Street's eclectic shops, restaurants, bars, and arts scene. Its downtown has great charm, and is very walk-able.
 
Hockessin, Delaware
The Pike Creek valley has great residential communities along the Delaware Piedmont, and offers beautiful houses and amenities.  Middletown, Townsend and other communities in Southern New Castle County have agricultural roots, but are growing residential communities.
