Historic Review Board

Board Responsibilities

The Historic Review Board makes recommendations and delineations for historic district boundaries, maintains a survey of historic properties and reviews permits relative to historic properties. For the exact language defining the Board’s responsibilities, please see Section 40.40.330 of the Unified Development Code.

Meeting Schedule

The Board holds one public hearing per month on the third Tuesday of the month, at 5:00 p.m. Meetings are held in the Gilliam Building Multi-Purpose Room, 77 Reads Way, New Castle Corporate Commons, New Castle, Delaware. The Board also holds a business meeting on the first Tuesday of the month, also at 5:00 p.m.

Providing Input

Members of the public have the opportunity to speak at all public hearings of the Board. Questions and comments about the Historic Review Board and agenda items may be directed to Christine Quinn at (302) 395-5400. Public comments regarding applications should be submitted in writing either 1) by e-mail to the Land Use department (Subject – Historic Review Board); 2) via fax to (302) 395-5443; or 3) by U.S. Mail to Historic Review Board, 87 Reads Way, New Castle, DE 19720.
