Inspections - Department of Land Use
The Office of Inspections is responsible for conducting inspections of building projects to ensure their compliance with the adopted County building codes. Our certified inspectors perform all Building, Mechanical, Plumbing and Site inspections.

2009 IECC - Significant Changes
New Castle County now uses the 2009 International Energy Conservation Code to obtain energy efficiency compliance in all new construction built on or after July 1, 2010. For your convenience, we have put together a summary of the new changes for residential buildings. For any questions or comments, please contact the Inspections Department at 302-395-5572.
