SNOW AND HOLIDAY CLOSING

The New Castle County Libraries will close at 5pm on Friday, February 5 and will be closed on Saturday, February 6 and Sunday, February 7 due to the incoming snow. We will also be closed Monday, February 8 in honor of Lincoln's Birthday. We apologize for any inconvenience.

New Castle Public Library Moving

The temporary location of the New Castle Library will be closing for business on 2/14/2010. They will re-open at their permanent home at 424 Delaware Street on 3/20/2010.

Story Times

Jitterbugs is for children ages 18-24 months, led by Miss Amy. You can't sit still if you are a Jitterbug! Registration for the next session begins each Monday.   Each session begins @11am. (30 minutes) Call 838-3300 for more information or to register.
Preschool Story Time, is for ages 3-6, each tuesday @ 10:15am. (30 minutes) Read and sing with Miss Peggy. There is no registration.
Pajama Story Time is a special story time for families. Come and spend time together singing and  listening to Miss Peggy. Each Tuesday @ 6:30pm. (30 minutes) No registration.
Time for Twos is for children ages 24-36 months. Read, sing, dance & make a special project each week with Miss Rose. There is no registration. Thursdays at 10:30am. (30 minutes) 
 
Story Times are Back!
Come and experience the fun of a Story Time. There is no registration for most, call to register for Jitterbugs.

It's Your Move - Bear Library Chess Club

Tuesdays
6 to 8 pm

The Chess Club is under new direction!  Mr. Anderson will hold meetings every Tuesday night for all playing levels and ages. There is NO registration and no experience is needed.  Come meet Mr. Anderson, join the group and learn this game of strategy or improve your current game.  Check at the Information desk for more information or call 838-3300.

DSTP Study Skills & Math Test Prep Workshop

Enroll your elementary, middle or high school student now in our FREE 2 hour program.  Standardized testing is just around the corner! PAWS - Read to the Dogs!

1st & 3rd Tuesday of the month
7-8 pm

Our Dogs love to listen! Come and read to Jake, ZZ, Coco Bella or Candy, our special dogs that love to listen to stories read by kids like you!
 
Call 838-3300 and ask for Miss Rose or Miss Tanya to make an appointment.  You will be scheduled to read for 15 minutes.
