The American Drive-In Movie Theater
America's love affair with movies and automobiles combined in 1933 in New Jersey with the opening of the first drive-in theater. Learn why and how this entertainment venue began, grew and declined, plus the local story of Delaware's longest-operating outdoor venue, the Diamond State Drive-In, which closed in 2008. With Ed Okonowicz.
This program is partially funded through a grant from the Delaware Humanities Forum.
