GROUNDBREAKING READS - SUMMER READING PROGRAM FOR ADULTS

6/1 - 8/17

Hockessin Library “Summer Reading for Adults” starts June 1st!
GROUNDBREAKING READS Guidelines:
*Register for the Summer Reading Program for Adults, 2013, “Groundbreaking Reads” at the Hockessin Library Reference Desk.
*Start Reading!  Keep track of the books you read in the “Groundbreaking Reads” Reading Log.
*Write and submit brief book reviews which will then go into our 2013, “Readers’ Advisory Binder.”
*Receive motivators, including books of your choice.
*Become eligible for weekly drawings & our Grand Drawing.
*Keep reading, writing book reviews, and receive a “Certificate of Completion” after 4 books.
*Receive a bonus after submitting a 5th review!  
Share  the love of reading…..     

Mother/Daughter Book Group


Book discussion group.  Ages 8 & up.  Limited to 10 pairs
Bring bottled water.  Snacks will be provided.

Quick Comics

Wednesday, July 17th

In this 90 minute workshop participants are invited to design and illustrate their own comic books about "Why I was late to ____".  Experimentation with storytelling, pop-up illustrations and adding your own personal touches is encouraged.
 
Ages 12 and up.  Registration begins July 3rd.

Personal Essay

Wednesday, July 31st

This two hour workshop allows participants to draft and revise an essay based on personal experiences and values. Depending on the participants’ selected topics, completed essays may be suitable for college admission applications or for publication in the Library’s literary magazine.
 
Ages 12 and up.  Registration begins July 17th.
