The nominees have been announced and we're leaving it up to the readers to vote for their favorites. Read all 5 books in your category and CAST YOUR VOTE!
Voting ends August 31st.
 
** The Blue Hen Book Awards are children and teen choice awards sponsored by the Youth Services Division of the Delaware Library Association. The purpose of the award is to encourage literacy and library use by children and teens.

Summer Reading Program for Adults
 
  • Register in person at the Information Desk
  • Read 4 books to receive a certificate
  • Write a book review - Share the love of reading!
  • Reviews will be displayed in a special Hockessin "Readers' Advisory" binder
  • Incentives provided by Friends of the Hockessin Library -- receive a special something after each written review, up to 5
  • Weekly drawings
  • No book discussions to attend
  • Celebration party on Sunday, August 15th

Hockessin's Lunchtime Book Bunch

2nd Wednesday of each month (7/14, 8/11, 9/8, 10/13, 11/10, 12/8)
Noon - 1 pm

WHO: Adults interested in a noon book club
WHAT: Great discussions about interesting books
WHEN: Second Wednesday of each month, Noon - 1 PM
WHERE: Community Room at the Hockessin Library
WHY: It makes lunch so much more interesting
HOW: Sign up for a book at the Information Desk!
 
NOTE: Bring your own brown bag lunch -- water will be provided.

Friends of Hockessin Library Book Donation Drop-Off

2/13, 3/13, 4/10, 5/8, 6/12, 7/10, 8/14, 9/11, 10/9, 11/13, 12/11
9am - 12 noon

Our Friends organization accepts donations year-round. You can drop off your donations on the second Saturday of each month, between 9 and noon, at the corner of Millcreek Road and Old Lancaster Pike (the empty lot behind Hockessin Memorial Hall).
