Under-the-Skirt Tour of the Civil War

This entertaining presentation features meticulous reproductions of clothing for the fashionable lady of the Civil War era.  The program includes characters dressed in 1860s attire, table exhibits of antique clothing, accessories, jewelry, toiletries, bonnets, as well as Civil War letters, placards, photos, and other artifacts.  Sponsored by the Delaware Humanities Forum.

LEGO CLUB

Join us for loads of building fun at the Kirkwood Library Lego Club for ages 6 and up !  We have themed challenges, Lego board games, free giveaways, and more. Younger siblings and other children 5 and under can enjoy their own special toddler-safe bricks in the kids' literacy room accompanied by an adult.  Registration is required.

Fall, 1969: Rumor of the death of popular Beatles member spreads throughout college campuses and the news media Beatles historian Joel Glazier examines some of the more popular clues found on album covers and in song lyrics, and relates them to literature, history, and sixties conspiracy theories.  Sponsored by the Delaware Humanities Forum.

Movie Night: Argo

Family Programs

Book Babies:  Mother Goose rhymes, stories, music, and playtime for infants and toddlers.  Thursdays at 10:15 a.m.  March 7 through May 30.  No session on 3/21.  Ages 0-18 months.
 
Rhythm, Rhyme, and Story Time:  Music, stories, songs, and more.  Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.  March 5 through May 28.  No sessions on 3/19.  Ages 3 and up. 
 
Toddler Tales:  Stories and action rhymes for toddlers and their caregivers.  Wednesdays at 10:15 a.m.  Ages 18-36 months.  Registration is required.  Dates announced upon registration. 
 
Clay Creations:  Join Jenny Davies-Reazor from the Art Studio for this two-class program.  Design your own original clay tile based on a favorite book character.  Mondays at 4:30 p.m.: May 13 and 20.  Wednesdays at 4:30 p.m.: May 15 and 22.  Ages 6-11.  Registration is required.  Must attend both dates in each session.
 
Mason Bees:  Add this prolific native non-stinging pollinator to your fruit, nut, and/or flower garden...this spring!  You will be creating a home for Mason bees using everyday materials.  Weather permitting, kits will include live Mason bee cocoons.  Homeschoolers, families, and seniors welcome.  Monday, May 20, 10:30-11:30 a.m.  Registration is required.  Only eight slots available.
