Libraries - New Castle County
Items Due During Emergency Closings
Please be advised that when the libraries are closed due to inclement weather, items due during that time will NOT be assessed late fees. Patrons are not expected to return their materials during such closures as we cannot guarantee the approaches to the book drops will be cleared.
Bear Library Closed
Bear Library has closed for renovations. The last day of operation was Saturday, December 31, though the book drop will remain available until Sunday, January 22, 2012. Bear Library will re-open in the Fall of 2012. Available nearby libraries for Bear patrons during this time are: Appoquinimink, Delaware City, Corbit-Calloway, Garfield Park, Kirkwood, New Castle, and Newark.
Lost Card Fee
As of February 1, 2012, all public libraries in the state of Delaware will charge patrons $2.00 for a lost card.

Rest assured, tax forms are coming, and assistance is being offered by volunteer organizations all over the County.

New Castle County Love Your Library Cookbook
Participate in New Castle County’s Love Your Library campaign by sharing your cherished recipes for the
New Castle County Love Your Library Cookbook.
Submit a recipe using the suggested topic for your preferred County library - or simply send us your favorite recipe! Use the link at the bottom to download and fill out a recipe submission form, then save it and email the form to
recipes@nccde.org
. Hard copies of the submission form can also be picked up and returned to any County library. Recipes must be submitted no later than January 28.
You can also reserve copies of the cookbook, which will be available in April, on the Recipe Submission Form. Cookbooks will be sold for $15. Reserve your copy now! All proceeds go to the Love Your Library Fundraising Campaign.
