Haunted Overnight

Saturday March 10, 2012

Join us at Rockwood Mansion for a thrilling evening. Sleepover will include updates of ghostly happenings, sightings, and eerie activities in the past. There will be ghost stories by Dr. Lou and videos of selected subjects. The investigation continues with EVPs, night vision, dousing rod action, and other interesting phenomenon. Cameras are welcome. This activity is open to adults only.

Friends of Rockwood presents A Victorian Lecture Series

Spend a Sunday afternoon exploring Victorian society through this interesting lecture series featuring memorabilia, photographs and historic portrayals.
Join us in Bessie's Parlor in the Rockwood Mansion at 1:30pm for a tour followed by a lecture at 2:30pm

Graduate student Jamin Wells will discuss the shipwrecks of the midnineteenth-century that profoundly influenced American history. Hear thrilling tales of wreck and rescue.
Colonial Revival & Rockwood

Edward Bringhurst III, like many Americans in the late 19th century, became enamored with the country's past and in particular the colonial era. Professor Anne Krulikowski will discuss this trend and show archival photos of Edward's treasured antique collections and decorated rooms.
 

Victorian Costume Ball

Enjoy an evening of popular ballroom dances of the mid- to late-19th century.  Victorian costumes and finery encourages, but not required.  Dance instruction provided.
