Delaware Shakespeare Festival: The Two Gentlemen of Verona

Outdoor Shakespeare entertaining the whole family. The best place to watch theatre in the summer is outdoors. Delaware Shakespeare Festival presents Shakespeare under the stars in a fun, family-friendly environment on the lush grounds of Rockwood Park.
Our talented company creates entertaining, understandable productions of some of the greatest plays ever written, as the audience picnics and enjoys a midsummer evening. In 2013, DSF presents Shakespeare’s youthful romantic comedy, The Two Gentlemen of Verona.

Shakes & Charades

Select Sundays This Summer
3pm, FREE

Join us in family fun of the simplest kind, using minimal props and structure. Twirl, hop, dance, and sing to suggested interpretations. Just pretend! Programs in July precede Family Night performances of Delaware Shakespeare Festival. No age requirements. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Rockwood Explorers Camp

August 5 - 9, 2013
9am - 3pm, $150

Hike and discover natural treasures, pan for gold in the creek, learn about archaeology, write and perform a play, go on a ghost tour of the museum and a scavenger hunt, play turn-of-the-century games, learn about history and architecture, and document it all in your journal.

Drop-In Days

Alternate Thursdays This Summer!
9am, 12pm, and 3pm, FREE

Participate in a nature experience at Rockwood Park. Start with a short topic lecture and then a staff-led walk around the grounds. Finish up with a topic-related activity and create a take-home craft.

Toddler Temosium

10am - 11:30am, FREE

Walk the park with a staff member keeping a sharp eye out for any critters, insects, or flowers of interest along the way. We’ll find a cozy spot to stop for a snack and drink that you bring from home. Finish out the morning with stories, music, games, or dancing.
This activity is free, but registration is suggested.

Overnight Paranormal Investigation

7pm - 3am, $100

Join Prof. Phil and Dr. Lou, our resident ghost hunters, on a thorough and extended paranormal investigation of Rockwood Museum. Hear stories of past occurrences experienced by employees and visitors in the mansion. Learn how to use a variety of paranormal investigative tools during the night. Go behind the scenes searching for ghostly contact. A light dinner fare will be provided. Must be over 18 to attend. Registration required.
